Hi there, welcome to my channel.
I'm a 34 year old self taught amateur woodworker from Brussels, Belgium.
I started woodworking in June 2017, and made my first guitar in September 2019.
My day job has nothing to do with woodworking, or making guitars, or anything artistic really.
My grandpa was a cabinet maker and woodworking teacher and my dad works in the construction... but that's about it, I've never touched a woodworking tool before the age of 31, and I hope that knowing that will inspire you to try new things!
I learned woodworking by watching youtube videos, and reading a few books, but mostly by practicing, experimenting, and solving problems.
This channel is meant to be a contribution to the youtube woodworking community, without which I wouldn't be making anything at all.

I built a bass guitar for my daughter (6 yo)
My daughter has been in every single one of my videos since I started this channel in early 2020, and she always steals the show with her sassy comments. The reactions to her jokes have been overwhelmingly positive through the years (as in, literally every other comment is about her and not the guitars ...........).
Now it was time to really put my bossy child to work, so we decided to build a bass for her.
In this build she made a lot of decisions: the color of the top, fading from pink to natural, is her idea, as well as having 2 sizes of fret dots, she chose the colors for the knobs, the arangement of the neck laminate, ... We went for a u-bass design because I was affraid that metal strings would hurt her fingers (turns out I was wrong, I later made a regular bass, and it makes no difference). The body has that classic Tchiks shape, turns out it was very easy to adapt to a bass, I just had to bring the upper horn closer to the 12th fret.
Making this bass just after the Red Special was a funny coincidence. Brian May made his famous guitar with his dad after all.
Needless to say, this was very very fun to make. And I'm very pleased with the results, and so is Zoé, she LOVES that bass and plays it all the time.
I guess I'll be making more basses for her in the future, as her body grows.

There will be more basses on this channel in the very near future, in the form of a tutorial on "how to make a Precision bass", in the style of my previous tutorial series (how to make a Telecaster), so stick around!

I really want to build my own acoustic guitar but I don't have a planer or anything so I gotta work with a hand saw and sand paper but it's cheaper than actually buying a guitar cause I only have to buy the guitar strings and the metal string tuners

Started building an electric bass back in 2017. Finished the body (which was quite the task with a semi-hollow construction), the headstock and the rough neck shape... and then never continued because I guess I got scared of the actual neck shaping part. Now's the time to finish this beautiful project, no more excuses with this extraordinarily comprehensive guide!

In 13 and about to pick my options next year and i have played guitar for 7 years I am going to pick music and wood tech and my main 2 options for GCSE’s and my project that I will pick for wood tech will be a tele as school has the right equipment and I will make one following this tutorial in year 11 thanks I’ll be back in a few years to say how it goes if I’m allowed to make one as they are allowed to deny it so if they accept I will build thanks Byee

still irks me to this day that most guitar body’s are multiple pieces of wood put together lol. i always thought it would just be a piece of wood big enough to cut out the body.
